(Note the nodding head in the background.)<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Because section 12046 of Article 10 says that the National Guard cannot be called up by the president without the consent of the governor.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Well, here&rsquo;s a news flash for the constitutional scholar from California (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/wolf-wall-street-reveals-suspicious-nature-pelosis-stock-market-success\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">consummate congressional insider-trader<\/a>): The Constitution <em>has no Article 10<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/constitutioncenter.org\/the-constitution\/full-text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">foundational document<\/a> of the United States, which Americans might expect a former House speaker to have a more than passing knowledge of, has only seven articles, ranging from the powers vested in the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government to its means of ratification.<\/p>\n<p>What Pelosi was attempting to refer to was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/10\/12406\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Title 10<\/em> of the U.S. Code<\/a>, which deals with the &ldquo;National Guard in Federal service.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>But even in that, she was wrong, as a passing knowledge of American history would show. In 1965, then-President Lyndon Johnson, a Democrat revered by his party today, did exactly the same thing as Trump. As the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3435794\/trump-historic-use-title-10-legal-battle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Examiner<\/a> noted, Johnson invoked Title 10 to use the Alabama National Guard to protect civil rights protesters after the rabidly racist then-Gov. George Wallace (also a Democrat, of course) refused to do so.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/newsom-suing-trump-eisenhower-jfk-bush-also-national-guard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newsom called Trump&rsquo;s move an<\/a> &ldquo;unmistakable step toward authoritarianism.&rdquo; Does anyone think Democrats are going to start accusing Johnson of being an &ldquo;authoritarian&rdquo; when he stepped in for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jill-bidens-pwadueh-and-other-top-pandering-moments-from-desperate-democrats\/\" title=\"Jill Biden\u2019s \u2018Pwadueh\u2019 And Other Top Pandering Moments From Desperate Democrats\">civil rights marchers<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>As conservative commentator Matt Margolis wrote Tuesday on <a href=\"https:\/\/pjmedia.com\/matt-margolis\/2025\/06\/10\/nancy-pelosi-cant-keep-her-lies-straight-on-trump-and-the-national-guard-n4940677\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PJ Media:<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The statute explicitly states that the president may call the Guard into federal service and that orders &lsquo;shall be issued through the governors,&rsquo; which is an administrative process, and not a requirement of consent. Federal law has long acknowledged the president&rsquo;s right to federalize the National Guard, and the Supreme Court has affirmed the president&rsquo;s right to federalize the National Guard without gubernatorial consent multiple times.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>And that doesn&rsquo;t even get into Pelosi&rsquo;s historical revisionism when it comes to the events surrounding the Capitol incursion of Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund, who has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tucker-carlson-releases-redo-explosive-jan-6-interview-former-capitol-police-chief-fox-never-aired\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">publicly scathing<\/a> about Pelosi&rsquo;s handling of Jan. 6, covered that in an X post after Pelosi&rsquo;s news conference.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">FACT: On January 6, I was restricted by Federal Law (2US1970) from bringing in ANY federal support, including the National Guard, without first receiving permission from the Capitol Police Board, which included both Sergeants at Arms who reported to Pelosi and McConnell.&hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Hg7nn0iAuH\">https:\/\/t.co\/Hg7nn0iAuH<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Chief Steven Sund (@ChiefSund) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ChiefSund\/status\/1932595942181519675?\">June 11, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&ldquo;FACT: On January 6, I was restricted by Federal Law (2US1970) from bringing in ANY federal support, including the National Guard, without first receiving permission from the Capitol Police Board, which included both Sergeants at Arms who reported to Pelosi and McConnel,&rdquo; he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>But relitigating the events of four years ago (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-nancy-pelosi-jan-6-video-surfaces-bombshell-scene-take-responsibility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pelosi&rsquo;s role in them<\/a>) isn&rsquo;t the point here.<\/p>\n<p>The point is, one of the most prominent leaders of the current Democratic Party, the 85-year-old woman who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pelosi-made-forceful-threat-biden-reversed-course-dime-dropped-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">played a key role<\/a> in pushing now-former President Joe Biden to the sidelines because his self<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >-evident cognitive decline spelled doom<\/a> for Democrats in November, is apparently no longer capable of remembering the difference between the United States Constitution and the U.S. Code.<\/p>\n<p>And she has the gall to &ldquo;hope the president would read Article 10 of the Constitution&rdquo; and urged reporters to do so, as well. (Imagine the establishment media firestorm if Trump had made a mistake like that.)<\/p>\n<p>She might want to look it up herself, before she goes out in public with the idea again.
