Journalists questioned Bondi about the criteria for invoking the act and the discussions surrounding it. Beyond California. Are you seeing examples in other cities where the president might have to consider it?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Bondi said the Department of Justice is using the Hobbs Act, which criminalizes robbery or extortion affecting interstate commerce, and said some other places, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3436488\/24-arrested-trump-tower-ice-protests-spread\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"New York City\">New York City<\/a>, had done a better job handling protests than California.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Right now in California, we&rsquo;re at a good point,&rdquo; Bondi said. &ldquo;We&rsquo;re not scared to go further.
