He expressed concerns that the deployment coudl escalate the situation amid ongoing protests in Los Angeles. Newsom stated that local authorities should be the ones to assess the need for resources during such dynamic events and urged the federal government to return control of the National guard to California. Indeed, the decision to deploy the National Guard, without appropriate training or orders, risks seriously escalating the situation,&rdquo; the letter added.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Accordingly, we ask that you immediately rescind your order and return the National Guard to its rightful control by the State of California, to be deployed as appropriate when necessary,&rdquo; the letter concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The National Guard arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday morning as the violent protests continued on Sunday.
