Critics, including Senator Thom Tillis and Congressman Greg Murphy, argue that this repeal would burden North Carolina&#8217;s important tobacco industry, which is heavily reliant on exports. They have received pressure from the agriculture sector,specifically a lobbying group called Our Ag Future,which has launched an advertising campaign to raise awareness of the issue. Thom Tillis (R-NC) posted to social media. &ldquo;I stand with our hardworking growers and I&rsquo;m pushing to get this hidden tax removed from the One Big Beautiful Bill.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC) shared the post. Rep.
