The findings where part of a larger effort to improve election integrity, especially following an executive order from President Trump that expanded states’ access to this information.

as per Texas law, only U.S. citizens are allowed to vote, and a proposed resolution to reinforce this rule will be presented to voters in a constitutional amendment in november 2025. The announcement follows a recent failure by Texas House Republicans to pass a bill requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration. This situation highlights ongoing efforts by Texas officials, including Attorney general Ken Paxton’s investigations into voter fraud.

                  Image CreditTim Patterson/Wikimedia Commons/CC BY-SA 2.0

Share

                         Share Article on Facebook

                         Share Article on Twitter

                         Share Article on Truth Social

                         Copy Article Link

                         Share Article via Email

Nearly three dozen “potential noncitizens” have been referred for investigation after casting ballots in Texas’ 2024 elections, the state’s elections chief announced Thursday.

According to a press release from the office of Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson, the 33 individuals whose citizenship remains in question are recorded as having voted in the Lone Star State’s 2024 November general election.
