Attorney General Pam Bondi emphasized that schools cannot give benefits to illegal aliens that are not available to U.S. citizens. On the same day, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton collaborated with the federal government to file a motion acknowledging that the state&#8217;s law was unconstitutional. U.S.District Judge Reed O&#8217;Connor ruled in agreement with this motion. Following the ruling, Paxton celebrated the decision as a meaningful victory for Texas, branding the previous law as discriminatory. Some Get Raped\u2019: Greg Gutfeld Flames Democrats For Blowing Off Border Crisis\">address illegal immigration<\/a> and its repercussions on American citizens.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Texas officially terminated in-state tuition for foreigners who entered the U.S. illegally after the Trump administration filed a lawsuit alleging it was unconstitutional.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration&rsquo;s Department of Justice sued the Lone Star State on Wednesday, alleging that Texas spent <a href=\"https:\/\/lrl.texas.gov\/legis\/billsearch\/BillDetails.cfm?legSession=77-0&amp;billtypeDetail=HB&amp;billNumberDetail=1403&amp;billSuffixDetail=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more than two decades<\/a> illegally discriminating against out-of-state American students by giving priority tuition to illegal aliens who resided in the state. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Under federal law, schools cannot provide benefits to illegal aliens that they do not provide to U.S. citizens,&rdquo; Attorney General Pam Bondi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/texas\/news\/doj-lawsuit-texas-in-state-tuition-undocumented\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a> in a statement at the time of the filing. &ldquo;The Justice Department will relentlessly fight to vindicate federal law and ensure that U.S. citizens are not treated like second-class citizens anywhere in the country.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>That same day, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton joined the federal government <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/press\/Joint%20Motion%20for%20Entry%20of%20Consent%20Judgment.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">to file a motion<\/a> agreeing that the law&rsquo;s provisions &ldquo;violate the Supremacy Clause and therefore are unconstitutional and invalid.&rdquo; In the motion, Paxton and the Trump administration acknowledge that a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/8\/1623\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1998 law<\/a> prohibits foreigners who are &ldquo;not lawfully present&rdquo; in the U.S. from receiving &ldquo;any <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >postsecondary education benefit&#038;rdquo<\/a>; that is denied to American citizens.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Judge Reed O&rsquo;Connor agreed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/press\/In%20State%20Tuition%20Final%20Judgment.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">his order and final judgment<\/a> issued later on Wednesday that Texas&rsquo; educational carve-outs for illegal aliens &ldquo;violate the Supremacy Clause and are unconstitutional and invalid.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Today, I entered a joint motion along with the Trump Administration opposing a law that unconstitutionally and unlawfully gave benefits to illegal aliens that were not available to American citizens,&rdquo; Paxton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/news\/releases\/attorney-general-ken-paxton-successfully-strikes-down-unconstitutional-law-gave-state-tuition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>, calling the end of the &ldquo;discriminatory and un-American provision&rdquo;
