by the GOP&rsquo;s &ldquo;one big, beautiful&rdquo; reconciliation bill, adding he thinks it &ldquo;undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The White House has pointed out that DOGE&rsquo;s proposed cuts are to discretionary spending, which cannot be passed through the reconciliation process, according to Senate budget rules. Instead, the cuts must be codified through either the normal appropriations process or through the passage of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-to-send-9-4-billion-rescissions-package-to-congress\/\" title=\"Trump to send ....4 billion &#039;...&#039; to Congress\">separate rescissions bill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The administration is expected to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3424019\/trump-white-house-rescissions-package-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">send the rescissions bill to the House<\/a> on Tuesday, meaning the Freedom Caucus will be demanding a vote sometime this week. This would add a major item to an otherwise light House docket this week, which could put GOP leadership in a bind as it works to try and get their conference on board with voting for a rescissions legislation.<\/p>\n<p>Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) can only afford to lose three votes on legislation to pass it along party lines. It is unclear whether centrist Republicans would offer any pushback on the legislation, though many have expressed concern over DOGE&rsquo;s slashes to federal aid programs such as the U.S. Agency for International Development.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson said in a post last week that House Republicans would &ldquo;move quickly&rdquo; to pass legislation to codify the DOGE cuts once the bill arrives.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3423454\/trump-midterms-spending-2026-gop-congress-majority\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>TRUMP GEARING UP FOR BIG MIDTERM SPEND TO AVOID &lsquo;TWO YEARS OF BULLS*** FROM DEMOCRATS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The House is eager and ready to act on DOGE&rsquo;s findings so we can deliver even more cuts to big&nbsp;government that President Trump wants and the American people demand,&rdquo; Johnson said.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation calls for $1.1 billion in cuts to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which runs PBS and NPR. It also calls for $8.3 billion in cuts to USAID and the African Development Foundation.
