(The &ldquo;make my day&rdquo; line &mdash; after a typically Eastwood-esque <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=3ishbTwXf1g&amp;ab_channel=MovieScenes101\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shoot-em-up scene<\/a> in 1983&rsquo;s &ldquo;Sudden Impact&rdquo; &mdash; is a bedrock of American culture.)<\/p>\n<p>And his string of Western classics &mdash; including the immortal, revenge-themed thriller &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0075029\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Outlaw Josey Wales<\/a>&rdquo; &mdash; certainly had no problem mining traditional storylines, though with Eastwood&rsquo;s particular touch.<\/p>\n<p>But, as Eastwood told the Kurier, that was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ben-franklins-name-scrubbed-from-tacoma-city-park\/\" title=\"Ben Franklin\u2019s Name Scrubbed From Tacoma City Park\">long time ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eastwood&rsquo;s movies over the past several decades have taken different twists, like &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0405159\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Million Dollar Baby<\/a>,&rdquo; which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/event\/ev0000003\/2005\/1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dominated the Oscars<\/a> in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>He&rsquo;s also been an unabashed patriot, celebrating the life of Marine marksman Chris Kyle in the 2014 &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt2179136\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">American Sniper<\/a>&rdquo; &mdash; which received <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt2179136\/awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">six Oscar nominations<\/a> and won one.<\/p>\n<p>His most recent, &ldquo;Juror No. 2,&rdquo; is a Hitchcockian look at a murder case in which one of the jurors might have played a bigger role in events than he&rsquo;s letting on.<\/p>\n<p>An honest appraisal of &ldquo;Juror No. 2,&rdquo; even from a confirmed Eastwood fan, would have to be something like: The premise is great. The follow-through is less great, and the ending, frankly, comes across as contrived to the point of desperation. But there are worse ways to be entertained for a couple of hours.<\/p>\n<p>But the point is, it was a movie that stood by itself.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&rsquo;t &ldquo;Dirty Harry&rdquo; No. 275, or another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/new-star-wars-movie-predicted-disneys-biggest-flop-yet-clips-expose-directors-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">awful &ldquo;Star Wars&rdquo;<\/a> spinoff, or another supercilious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/media-spin-machine-kicks-gear-make-excuses-woke-superhero-movie-lose-millions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">superhero farce<\/a>, or yet another one of those god-awful, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disneys-snow-white-flop-gotten-bad-now-altering-upcoming-movie-plans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">live action warpings<\/a> of a classic that have stained the once-revered Disney name and infuriated the American public.<\/p>\n<p>That&rsquo;s the state of Hollywood today, and it has been for decades.<\/p>\n<p>And a nonagenarian like Eastwood, a man with a towering image in his profession and his country, remembers when things were better.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I long for the good old days when screenwriters wrote movies like &lsquo;Casablanca&rsquo; in small bungalows on the studio lot. When everyone had a new idea,&rdquo; he said, according to Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>And even at his advanced age &mdash; unlike <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/damning-evidence-autopen-scandal-activity-last-100-days-biden-admin-first-three-half-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">certain Democratic politicians<\/a> Americans could name (particularly ones hailing from Delaware) &mdash; he is in the physical and mental shape to do his part to improve things.<\/p>\n<p>And he doesn&rsquo;t sound like he plans on stopping any time soon. He&rsquo;s already in the pre-production phase for his next project, Reuters reported.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There&rsquo;s no reason why a man can&rsquo;t get better with age.
