for President Donald Trump&rsquo;s administration.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/05\/30\/trump-supreme-court-immigrants.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNBC<\/a>, in a 7-2 ruling, SCOTUS stayed a lower court order preventing the Trump administration from terminating the temporary protected status of approximately 500,000 illegal immigrants who entered the United States from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela under a scheme perpetrated by former President Joe Biden&rsquo;s administration.<\/p>\n<p>In typical, virtue-signaling, liberal fashion, Justice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/justice-ketanji-brown-jackson-true-thoughts-first-amendment-slip-obstacle-hamstringing-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ketanji Brown-Jackson<\/a> &mdash; a Biden appointee whose SCOTUS tenure should come under scrutiny in light of the fact that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mike-johnson-confirms-worst-biden-didnt-actually-know-signing-end\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cognitively impaired<\/a> former president almost certainly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/appears-like-hunter-biden-pardoned-breakdown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">did not make all of his own decisions<\/a> &mdash; waxed sarcastic as she poured out rhetorical tears for the illegal migrants.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I suppose, that it is in the public&rsquo;s interest to have the lives of half a million migrants unravel all around us before the courts decide their legal claims,&rdquo; Under that program, the Biden administration allowed hundreds of thousands of Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, and Venezuelan migrants to bypass normal immigration channels and apply for temporary protected status.<\/p>\n<p>During his October debate with Democratic Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tim-walz-humiliates-explaining-selected-kamala-harris-running-mate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tim Walz<\/a> of Minnesota, Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-jd-vance-delivers-pope-leo-xiv-message-directly-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">J.D. Vance<\/a> explained how that program worked. Readers might remember it as the otherwise civil debate&rsquo;s most contentious moment, when CBS moderator and establishment propagandist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-jd-vance-steamrolls-cbs-margaret-brennan-says-america-country-founded-immigrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Margaret Brennan<\/a> first tried to prevent Vance from speaking and then falsely characterized the CHNV program as part of the &ldquo;legal&rdquo; process.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Margaret,&rdquo; Vance began as both CBS moderators tried talking over him, &ldquo;the rules were that you guys weren&rsquo;t gonna fact-check, and since you&rsquo;re fact-checking me, I think it&rsquo;s important to say what&rsquo;s actually going on.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;So there&rsquo;s an application called the CBP One app,&rdquo; Vance continued, &ldquo;where you can go on as an illegal migrant, apply for asylum or apply for parole, and be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-democrats-slideshow-highlights-amnesty-proposal-for-illegal-immigrants-that-would-cost-105-billion-in-reconciliation-bill\/\" title=\"EXCLUSIVE: Democrats\u2019 Slideshow High...s Amnesty Proposal For Illegal Immigrants That Would Cost 5 Billion In Reconciliation Bill\">granted legal status<\/a> at the wave of a Kamala Harris open-border wand. That is not a person coming in, applying for a green card, and waiting for ten years. The Constitution&rsquo;s plain text does not authorize SCOTUS to &ldquo;green light&rdquo; anything for a president. Courts may grant relief to individual plaintiffs wronged by the government. But the branches are co-equal, so the president may do as he pleases without a federal court&rsquo;s approval. If the president exceeds his authority, as the courts do on a daily basis, the Constitution provides political remedies such as Congress withholding funds or, in extreme cases, impeachment.<\/p>\n<p>But we MUST stop thinking about SCOTUS as a place presidents must go to find constitutional sanction for their policies.<\/p>\n<p>In any event, this time SCOTUS happened to reach the correct decision.
