Governor J.B.Pritzker has expressed his intention to veto any <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >broad-based tax measures impacting working families<\/a>,sparking criticism from opponents who question his sincerity and political motivations. Some speculate that Pritzker has aspirations for higher office, wich may influence his decisions. Simultaneously occurring, the proposed $54 billion state budget could be supplemented by an additional $75.5 billion in federal funds, though potential funding freezes from the Trump administration could jeopardize this. Wednesday, Gov. J.B. They&rsquo;re broad based, or that would affect working families in this budget,&rdquo; Pritzker told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>Thursday, state Sen. Andrew Chesney, R-Freeport, said the governor isn&rsquo;t being genuine.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Well, is that the same governor that said he was not going to support a gerrymandered map? I think that&rsquo;s the same, governor,&rdquo; Chesney said during a news conference. &ldquo;So I think the governor has a political interest in trying to fight for the taxpayers because his interest is in presidential politics, not state politics.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s been speculated for years Pritzker is aiming for higher office, including efforts to vie to be former Vice President Kamala Harris&rsquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-biden-knows-he-messed-up-on-fracking-at-debate-and-is-now-doing-damage-control-the-daily-wire\/\" title=\"Joe Biden Knows He Messed Up On Fracking At Debate And Is Now Doing Damage Control | The Daily Wire\">vice presidential candidate<\/a> during the 2024 election cycle.<\/p>\n<p>While Illinois could approve a $54 billion spending plan as the governor proposed in February, that&rsquo;s just state taxpayer money. The state could get an additional $75.5 billion in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-admin-concedes-its-unfair-to-let-men-compete-in-womens-sports-with-new-rules-allowing-men-in-womens-sports\/\" title=\"Biden Admin Concedes It\u2019s Unfair To Let Men Compete In Women\u2019s Sports With New Rules Allowing Men In Women\u2019s Sports\">federal tax funds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But, that could change with the Trump administration possibly freezing funds for states, including spending for non-citizen health care. Gov. J.B. Pritzker criticized that and other potential funding freezes.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;[President] Donald Trump, frankly, doesn&rsquo;t give a darn about working people, about folks who are vulnerable in our society and only wants to give a massive tax cut to the wealthiest people in the country,&rdquo; Pritzker said Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>State Rep.
