In a letter to ABA President William Bay, Bondi stated that historically, the ABA received advanced notice of nominees and meaningful privileges from some administrations, allowing it to influence nominations with its ratings. Though, she declared that the Trump management will not grant the ABA such access, claiming that its ratings are biased in favor of nominees from Democratic administrations. Bondi continued.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;There is no justification for treating the ABA differently from such other activist organizations and the Department of Justice will not do so.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The letter said special ABA access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/250-years-ago-alexander-hamilton-told-us-handle-anti-trump-judges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">judicial nominees<\/a> is over.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Accordingly, while the ABA is free to comment on judicial nominations along with other activist organizations, there is no justification for treating the ABA differently from such other activist organizations and the Department of Justice will not do so,&rdquo; she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Specifically, the Office of Legal Policy will no longer direct nominees to provide waivers allowing the ABA access to non-public information, including bar records.
