\t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Warren Quets, himself a retired Army lieutenant colonel, described how his 31-year-old son had ventured across the border on a trip to Rocky Point, Mexico, in the state of Sonora.<\/p>\n<p>En route, he was stopped at a Sinaloa cartel checkpoint that included a force of &ldquo;11 different cars and about 25 different people,&rdquo; Quets said.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They tried to steal his pickup truck, and then those cowards shot my son in the back, through the heart, and so he was killed on the spot.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;And so they went after him, targeted him, as a known American who didn&rsquo;t do anything except drive through the country.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>President Donald Trump has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/country-poisoned-trump-unveils-plan-wage-war-drug-cartels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">made no secret<\/a> of his intent to target the drug cartels in his return to the White House.<\/p>\n<p>As noted in a DHS <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/news\/2025\/05\/28\/secretary-noem-honors-nicholas-quets-us-marine-corps-veteran-murdered-sinaloa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a> that accompanied the video, Trump signed an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/designating-cartels-and-other-organizations-as-foreign-terrorist-organizations-and-specially-designated-global-terrorists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">executive order<\/a> on his first day in office, designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the killing, the Quets met with Trump, then still a presidential candidate, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/trump-vance-meet-family-marine-veteran-killed-mexican-highway-suspected-cartel-members\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a> reported at the time.<\/p>\n<p>In the video released Wednesday, Warren Quets made it clear the couple got no similar support from then-President Joe Biden or then-Vice President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kamala-harris-struggles-words-biden-style-attempts-play-ways-immigration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kamala Harris<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;But in the whole time that occurred, I never received any feedback from the previous administration, even though I had begged for it,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>In the video, Quets also praised DHS and Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kristi-noem-issues-fierce-response-viral-video-calling-murder-ice-agents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kristi Noem<\/a> for re-establishing VOICE, an office for Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement, a government outreach effort for American families victimized by violence related to illegal immigration.
