The poll, conducted by the Barbara Jordan Public Policy Research and Survey Center, shows that Paxton has 43% support compared to Cornyn&#8217;s 34%.Paxton&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >favorability rating stands<\/a> at 68%, exceeding Cornyn&#8217;s 58%. As he aligns himself with former President Donald Trump, which resonates with Texas voters, half of those surveyed believe that Trump&#8217;s endorsement could influence their choice. Amidst this, Democrats see an opportunity to potentially flip the seat if the Republican primary becomes particularly contentious, with former Democratic Rep. Colin Allred, who lost to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in 2024, has not announced a bid for the seat. Allred is just two points behind in a hypothetical match-up against Paxton.
