The event, which was witnessed by a large crowd, prompted a rare acknowledgment from North Korean state media, Korea central News Agency (KCNA), which had to admit an investigation into the “unforgivable criminal act” occurred due to poor launch conditions and flooding of the vessel.

Despite KCNA downplaying the damage as “not serious,” they confirmed that the ship was listing in the water, raising concerns over the capabilities and management of the regime’s naval engineering. Analysts noted the incident reinforces worries about North Korea’s broader <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/army-leaders-join-gen-milley-and-release-statement-saying-there-is-no-role-for-us-army-in-martial-law-in-determining-elections/" title="Army Leaders Join Gen. The incident has sparked debate regarding the security implications of a state that cannot competently manage conventional military assets while promoting its nuclear prowess. The overall sentiment is one of apprehension about the reliability of North Korea’s military capabilities considering its recent failures.

What do you say about a nuclear power that cannot build a ship that floats? I can’t help but feel sympathy for those involved in the 5,000-ton destroyer-unnamed-that was launched on Wednesday from Chongjin’s shipyard in North Korea, as reported by the South China Morning Post. It’s troubling enough that the Korea Central News Agency (KCNA), known for its propaganda and tendency to obscure negative news while boasting about Pyongyang’s achievements and denouncing America, had to admit there was an investigation into this incident on Friday. According to Reuters, Kim Jong-un witnessed the launch mishap; the ship reportedly lost stability during its launch and appeared to have struck bottom, resulting in damage to parts of its hull. While KCNA downplayed the damage as “not serious,” they also labeled what occurred as “an unpardonable criminal act.”

South Korean media reported that by Thursday, the ship was found capsized in Chongjin’s waters, with images supporting this claim-though North Korean officials seemed hopeful they could conceal it with blue tarps. The latest naval destroyer from North Korea has suffered significant damage before even being officially launched. In an unusual move for them, KCNA acknowledged an incident involving a new destroyer nearing launch in Chongjin.

As noted by Reuters, this failed launch likely took place before a large audience, adding public embarrassment for Kim-hence KCNA’s coverage of it. Having followed KCNA reports sporadically over time, I can say their attempts at state media often resemble comical portrayals typical of banana republics trying to mask widespread suffering with exaggerated claims of progress alongside threats against Western nations.

The admission from KCNA regarding this blunder highlights just how monumental it was: thorough inspections revealed no holes were made at the warship’s bottom; instead, scratches were found on one side and some seawater entered through a rescue channel. Experts estimated recovery would take two or three days just to pump out water from flooded areas and around ten days more for full repairs.

Regardless of how well or poorly constructed their warship may be now after these events-the fact remains that such an accident is deemed an unpardonable crime within their regime; those accountable cannot escape responsibility for what happened. This situation isn’t merely about physical damage or financial loss but serves as a warning against carelessness and irresponsibility prevalent across various sectors.

Setting aside their peculiar use of terms like “empiricist” outside party jargon reveals North Korea’s acknowledgment of being reckless enough not to foresee that their new 5,000-ton destroyer might sink upon launching-a concerning trait considering they possess approximately 50 nuclear warheads along with sufficient fissile material potentially allowing them up to 90 more weapons paired with ballistic missiles capable of delivering them.

In post-World War II defense strategy discussions surrounding nuclear arsenals revolves around mutually assured destruction: if one nation seeks annihilation against another nation possessing similar capabilities-it leads both towards mutual destruction instead. Perhaps military analysts are better suited than myself at evaluating these matters-but does knowing such a hostile nation struggles even with basic naval engineering make you feel safer or less secure given they also hold destructive capabilities?

All I can conclude is: being involved in shipbuilding within Chongjin must be particularly daunting right now

[33651
55834,55833,32109,55835
post-2438639","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-the-western-journal","tag-blue-tarps","tag-national-humiliation","tag-north-korea","tag-propaganda-failure
["GET
