International students made up <a href=\"https:\/\/oneworld.worldwide.harvard.edu\/international-students-at-harvard\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">27.2 percent<\/a> of the school&rsquo;s student body during the 2024-25 academic year.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Judge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-harvard-dodges-bullet-racial-discrimination-case-may-now-face-trumps-conservative-supreme-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Allison Burroughs<\/a> wrote that she granted a <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.mad.285083\/gov.uscourts.mad.285083.11.0_3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">temporary restraining order<\/a> because Harvard &ldquo;will sustain immediate and irreparable injury before there is an opportunity to hear from all parties. Secretary Noem is following through on her promise to protect students and prohibit terrorist sympathizers from receiving benefits from the U.S. government,&rdquo; the release said.<\/p>\n<p>In her Thursday <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Sec_Noem\/status\/1925612991703052733\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to Maureen Martin, Harvard&rsquo;s director of immigration services, Noem noted that the administration tried to meet halfway, but the college did not want to comply.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Consequences must follow to send a clear signal to Harvard and all universities that want to enjoy the privilege of enrolling foreign students, that the Trump Administration will enforce the law and root out the evils of anti-Americanism and antisemitism in society and campuses,&rdquo; she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Noem also offered to stay the revocation for 72 hours if Harvard wants to comply.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/05\/23\/harvard-sues-trump-administration-international-students-00367076\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a> reported that Judge Burroughs is also presiding over the case involving the Trump administration&rsquo;s decision to pull $2.2 billion in funding from Harvard.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">HARVARD: Bill Ackman is 100% right about Harvard&rsquo;s failure to read the room.
