\t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>In fact, the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >minority leader isn&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t just complaining about this looming prospect.<\/p>\n<p>Charles Ellis Schumer is fuming mad and making actual senate moves to try and thwart Trump from having his Air Force One replacement.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/5308029-schumer-air-force-one-trump-qatar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>, Schumer has introduced a bill that would disallow any foreign-owned aircraft from serving as Air Force One.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, the bill seeks to ensure that taxpayer money won&rsquo;t go into retrofitting the plane.<\/p>\n<p>The bill, called the &ldquo;Presidential Airlift Security Act,&rdquo; per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/us-senate-democratic-leader-proposes-ban-foreign-air-force-one-2025-05-19\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a>, is obviously targeting Trump&rsquo;s potential usage of the $400 million Qatari plane.<\/p>\n<p>Schumer took to X to complain about it all &mdash; and announce that new bill:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Trump taking this Qatari plane is a national security threat and a bribe.<\/p>\n<p>And I&rsquo;m introducing legislation to stop the Defense Department from spending a single penny on it. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SewFsBqog8\">pic.twitter.com\/SewFsBqog8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Chuck Schumer (@SenSchumer) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SenSchumer\/status\/1924629105691054399?\">May 20, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The New York senator called Trump&rsquo;s acceptance of the Qatari plane &ldquo;a national security threat and a bribe,&rdquo; though it&rsquo;s worth noting that if it were actually those things, Schumer probably wouldn&rsquo;t need a bill to circumvent it.<\/p>\n<p>One <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/alert-journalists-are-actively-spreading-misinformation\/\" title=\"ALERT: Journalists Are ... Spreading Misinformation\">thing worth noting<\/a>: Schumer claimed that retrofitting the Qatari plane to look for &ldquo;listening devices&rdquo; is&nbsp;&ldquo;going to cost more than the planes that are being built&rdquo; by Boeing.<\/p>\n<p>But as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/politics\/boeing-bungled-3-9-billion-air-force-one-project-blew-past-deadline-opened-door-qatari-jet-offer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox Business<\/a> noted, the cost of completely gutting and reassembling the Qatari plane would cost roughly a billion dollars.<\/p>\n<p>The aforementioned Boeing contract is for $3.9 billion, so no, retrofitting the Qatari plane will likely not cost more than waiting for the Boeing planes.<\/p>\n<p>Getting dollar figures wrong is hardly Schumer&rsquo;s only issue of late. In fact, the embattled minority leader has found himself in a bit of a &ldquo;no man&rsquo;s land&rdquo; of late.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans have never been especially fond of Schumer or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-dhs-rebukes-schumers-suggestion-doge-played-role-ship-crash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his rhetoric<\/a>, which is to be expected given the deep partisan divide in American politics.<\/p>\n<p>But Schumer has also drawn the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/soros-comes-schumer-dem-leader-faces-end-career-soros-backed-org-marks-elimination\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ire of his own party<\/a> recently, apparently for not being Democratic enough.<\/p>\n<p>(It is worth noting that a number of Schumer&rsquo;s fellow Democratic senators are also opposing this plane. Sens.
