TPS enables individuals from countries deemed unsafe to live and work legally in the U.S. due to crises such as civil unrest or natural disasters. <\/p>\n<p>The court&#8217;s order was issued with minimal dissent and without clarification,a common practise for emergency appeals. This case is part of a series of immigration-related appeals the Trump administration has made,including efforts to end humanitarian parole for other immigrant groups from Cuba,Haiti,and Nicaragua. The administration has focused on withdrawing various protections,despite opposition from lower courts that view the possible impact on affected individuals as significant. \t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>The case is the latest in a string of emergency appeals President Donald Trump&rsquo;s administration has made to the Supreme Court, many of them related to immigration.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the government asked the court to allow it to end humanitarian parole for hundreds of thousands of immigrants from Cuba, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kristi-noem-revokes-protected-status-500000-haitians-opens-deportation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Haiti<\/a>, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, setting them up for potential deportation as well.<\/p>\n<p>The high court also has been involved in legal battles over Trump&rsquo;s efforts to swiftly deport <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/colorados-liberal-governor-dismisses-venezuelan-gang-takeover-aurora-imagination\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Venezuelans<\/a> accused of being gang members to a prison in El Salvador under an 18th-century wartime law called the Alien Enemies Act.<\/p>\n<p>The administration has moved aggressively to withdraw various protections that have allowed immigrants to remain in the country, including ending the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >temporary protected status<\/a> for a total of 600,000 Venezuelans and 500,000 Haitians.<\/p>\n<p>That status is granted in 18-month increments.<\/p>\n<p>The protections had been set to expire April 7, but U.S. District Judge Edward Chen ordered a pause on those plans.<\/p>\n<p>He found that the expiration threatened to severely disrupt the lives of hundreds of thousands of people and could cost billions in lost economic activity.<\/p>\n<p>Chen, who was appointed to the bench by Democratic President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-jennifer-aniston-opened-barack-obama-cheating-rumor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barack Obama<\/a>, found the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-to-accept-water-from-mexico-but-demands-it-follow-terms-of-treaty-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Texas to accept water from Mexico but demands it follow terms of treaty - Washington Examiner\">government hadn&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t shown any harm caused by keeping the program alive.<\/p>\n<p>But Solicitor General D.
