If convicted, she faces up to 19 years in state prison.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred on April 8 when police were searching for hit-and-run suspects in her neighborhood. During the search, officers saw shriner in her backyard with a 9mm pistol. Body camera footage revealed that when police ordered her to drop the weapon, she initially refused to comply and allegedly fired a shot toward them, prompting police to return fire and injure her in the shoulder. Shriner later claimed she thought she was protecting her home from the suspects.
