The president&rsquo;s approval ratings on immigration and the economy slipped amid the upheaval, according to polls.<\/p>\n<p>The renewed surge comes as Trump has negotiated several new trade deals resolving tariff disputes, including with China and the United Kingdom. The poll additionally reinforces data showing that Trump made steep inroads with young voters during the 2024 election.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, the president also saw sharp gains in support from other demographics that traditionally lean Democratic, including the black community and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/3225782\/working-class-realignment-not-going-away-any-time-soon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">working-class voters<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Democrats continue to struggle to capture the support of millennials, whose support for the Left has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/3388954\/young-americans-harvard-democratic-party-poll-trump-gop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">drastically declined<\/a> in recent years.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">President Donald Trump speaks during a business roundtable on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in Doha, Qatar. The coalition of millennials now entering their 30s and 40s&nbsp;who easily pushed former President&nbsp;Barack Obama&nbsp;into two terms have flipped to Trump, he found.<\/p>\n<p>The YouGov\/<em>Economist<\/em> poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.
