Jeffries threatened repercussions if three Democratic representatives who participated in the protest were sanctioned or arrested after allegedly storming an ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey.Britt countered Jeffries&#8217; remarks by stating that &#8220;no one is above the law,&#8221; a phrase commonly used by Democrats against former President Trump.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview on Fox News, Britt criticized the Democrats for their actions, claiming that their focus on illegal immigrants was detrimental to American citizens. Rob Menendez (D-NY), LaMonica McIver (D-NY), and Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NY) were arrested or sanctioned, as these three lawmakers were among the protesters the Department of Homeland Security said <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DHSgov\/status\/1921271072147546558\" title=\"\">stormed a detention center<\/a> in Newark, New Jersey, used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. We saw them pick up for Biden saying that he was fine. You just covered it on your show. That was absolutely false and they knew it. They also know that these members were way out of bounds. She also expressed hope the party can &ldquo;wake up before it&rsquo;s too late,&rdquo; arguing that its current stance is not sustainable for the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Following the ICE protest, Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) has introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3409810\/buddy-carter-ice-facility-new-jersey-democrats-newark\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">a resolution to revoke&nbsp;the committee assignments of the three Democratic lawmakers<\/a> at the ICE facility. Carter told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> that this resolution is needed since &ldquo;it preserves the rule of law and shows our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cartel-leaders-hand-delivered-to-us-after-trumps-threat-against-mexico\/\" title=\"Cartel Leaders Hand-Delivered to US After Trump\u2019s Threat Against Mexico\">brave law enforcement agents<\/a> that we stand with them.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/immigration\/3408693\/dhs-program-social-security-california-illegal-immigrants-subpoena\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">DHS SUBPOENAS CALIFORNIA PROGRAM OVER CONCERNS IT ILLEGALLY SENT SOCIAL SECURITY PAYMENTS TO NONCITIZENS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>McIver, Menendez, and Watson Coleman claimed in a joint statement that Carter&rsquo;s resolution was &ldquo;another attempt to distract&rdquo; the public from Republican lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was among the protesters at the ICE facility, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3406996\/newark-mayor-ras-baraka-arrested-protest-lawmakers-stormed-ice-prison\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">who was arrested by police<\/a>.
