But as it turns out, when elections don&rsquo;t go their way suddenly the process is flawed and democracy is negotiable. <\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the credentials committee of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) voted to overturn the results of an election that led to 25-year-old David Hogg being selected as a party vice chair. (Hogg survived the 2018 Parkland School shooting.)<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-731858755\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>But the DNC committee argued the election did not <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >follow proper parliamentary procedures<\/a>. The decision &ldquo;will put the issue before the full body of the Democratic National Committee,&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/05\/12\/us\/politics\/david-hogg-dnc-democrats.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a> to The New York Times. The DNC will then decide &ldquo;whether to force Mr. Hogg and a second vice chair, Malcolm Kenyatta, to run again in another election later this year,&rdquo; according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>The committee moved to deny the election results after one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dnc-moves-to-nullify-david-hogg-pelosis-daughter-plays-damage-control\/\" title=\"... Moves to Nullify ..., Pelosi&#039;s Daughter Plays Damage Control\">losing vice chair candidates<\/a>, Kalyn Free, claimed the party &ldquo;had wrongly combined two separate questions into a single vote, putting at a disadvantage the female candidates because of the party&rsquo;s gender-parity rules,&rdquo; according to The Times. <\/p>\n<p>In a statement before the vote took place, Free said &ldquo;This is about fairness and making sure that three women and the voting members of the D.N.C. are not disenfranchised,&rdquo; according to The Times. <\/p>\n<p>Apparently, it&rsquo;s not &ldquo;election denial&rdquo; if the denial comes with a diversity, equity, and inclusion clause.<\/p>\n<p>At first, Christine Pelosi (Nancy Pelosi&rsquo;s daughter) tried to dismiss the complaint which resulted in a tie vote, according to the report. A second resolution for a new election with the same candidates was eventually approved by the committee.<\/p>\n<p>The DNC&rsquo;s decision to overturn the election results comes after the committee spent years decrying so-called &ldquo;election deniers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In an April 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/democrats.org\/news\/dnc-statement-on-donald-trump-and-maga-mike-johnsons-election-denial-press-conference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a>, DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd said Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson &ldquo;are extreme election deniers and serial liars who are hellbent on threatening our democracy and spreading baseless falsehoods about the 2020 election.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>One month prior to <em>that<\/em> comment, <a href=\"https:\/\/democrats.org\/news\/dnc-statement-on-ronna-mcdaniels-failure-to-whitewash-her-election-denier-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Floyd<\/a> chastised former RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel for allegedly trying to &ldquo;whitewash her record as an election-denying MAGA enabler&rdquo; before criticizing anyone who platformed her after she demonstrated &ldquo;such a blatant disregard fort he truth, not to mention our entire democratic system.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>After years of claiming that questioning election outcomes was an existential threat to democracy, Democrats are proving that democracy only matters when their desired candidate wins. <\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Brianna Lyman is an elections correspondent at The Federalist.
