During his visit too Saudi Arabia, Trump expressed that the sanctions, which were implemented as a response to the Assad regime&#8217;s brutal actions against its citizens, had served their purpose. He stated that it was now &#8220;Syria&#8217;s time to shine&#8221; and wished them &#8220;good luck.&#8221; this announcement was met with applause from attendees at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum, where trump made the statement. Following the announcement, celebrations erupted across Syria, celebrating the lifting of sanctions. Trump is also expected to meet with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa soon.
