Affordable medicine is something constituents need and lawmakers have promised for <a href=\"https:\/\/oversightdemocrats.house.gov\/investigations\/drug-pricing-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">years<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the Senate Judiciary Committee moved six bipartisan but largely Democrat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judiciary.senate.gov\/press\/dem\/releases\/senate-judiciary-committee-advances-six-bipartisan-bills-to-lower-prescription-drug-prices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bills<\/a> aimed at lowering drug prices. None of the bills offer industry-wide solutions, but it still puts them on record as claiming to care about lowering drug costs.<\/p>\n<p>But they don&rsquo;t care enough to collaborate. Any desire Democrats may have to solve a problem is dwarfed by their scorn for Trump.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Democrats talk about lowering drug prices&mdash;but they protected the rigged system that sent costs through the roof.<\/p>\n<p>Today, President Trump signed an executive order and blew up The Democrat Corrupt Drug Pricing Scheme&mdash;to make prescription drugs affordable for Americans. &#128165;&#128138;&#127482;&#127480; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/l9G2zyFTt4\">pic.twitter.com\/l9G2zyFTt4<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&mdash; The White House (@WhiteHouse) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WhiteHouse\/status\/1922072520393478210?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 12, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>As the president tackles problems with universal appeal, Democrats are stuck in resistance mode.<\/p>\n<p>Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., cast doom on Trump&rsquo;s plan Monday on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/video\/2025\/05\/12\/schumer_trumps_eo_on_drug_prices_is_a_photo_op_half-baked_political_stunt.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Senate floor<\/a>, calling it &ldquo;&hellip; little more than a photo op masquerading as reform.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Americans have long paid more for prescriptions compared to other countries, even for the many drugs developed in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>The higher prices have been defended as necessary to help fund the cost of drug research and development. But while Americans pay through the nose, other countries get a discount.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Americans should not be forced to subsidize low-cost prescription drugs and biologics in other developed countries, and face overcharges for the same products in the United States,&rdquo; Trump&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/05\/delivering-most-favored-nation-prescription-drug-pricing-to-american-patients\/\">or<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/05\/delivering-most-favored-nation-prescription-drug-pricing-to-american-patients\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">d<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/05\/delivering-most-favored-nation-prescription-drug-pricing-to-american-patients\/\">er<\/a> reads. It calls for Americans to be given a &ldquo;Most-favored-nation price&rdquo; and gives his administration 30 days to get the costs down to what &ldquo;comparably developed nations,&rdquo; are paying.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My Administration will take immediate steps to end global freeloading and, should drug manufacturers fail to offer American consumers the most<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-says-americans-wont-be-treated-like-suckers-by-big-pharma-any-longer-as-he-signs-executive-order\/\" title=\"Trump Says Americans Won&#039;t Be Treated Like &#039;Suckers&#039; by Big Pharma Any Longer as He Signs Executive Order\">-favored-nation lowest price<\/a>, my Administration will take additional aggressive action,&rdquo; the order continues.<\/p>\n<p>The Federalist asked Schumer&rsquo;s office for comment on Trump&rsquo;s plan but received no response. However, Schumer telegraphed his intent to throw spikes under Trump&rsquo;s tires, predicting the executive order will flop.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Donald Trump can say he&rsquo;s doing an executive order, but the odds are overwhelming that it will fail. The real way to make drug price reform happen is to do what Democrats do &mdash; and what Donald Trump is loath to do &mdash; roll up your sleeves and do the hard work of passing legislation,&rdquo; says the guy who has failed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/what-you-need-to-know-about-trumps-latest-drug-pricing-moves\/\" title=\"What You Need To Know About Trump\u2019s Latest Drug Pricing Moves\">lower drug prices<\/a> across the board. Democrats didn&rsquo;t solve the problem while in power.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Biden, Bernie, Obama, Klobuchar, Pocahontas, AOC, Blumenthal&mdash;ran their mouths about lowering drug prices.<\/p>\n<p>But they lied. Cory Booker, D-N.J., proposed the Prescription Drug Affordability and Access Act that would create a new agency called the Bureau of Prescription Drug Affordability and Access. It would review and set drug prices.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, expand government and create more red tape. The Federalist asked Booker&rsquo;s office for his thoughts on Trump&rsquo;s plan. Would he support it? His office didn&rsquo;t answer. <\/p>\n<p>Last month Booker complained Trump was doing nothing to lower drug prices. But no one will be surprised if Booker now finds a reason to criticize Trump&rsquo;s executive order.<\/p>\n<p>Many lawmakers have offered partial solutions. But they have not brought relief to U.S. citizens overpaying for healing medicines. <\/p>\n<p>Health and Human Services Secretary&nbsp;Robert Kennedy Jr. said Monday that lawmakers have been promising they would lower drug costs for decades, while knowing they would never have to actually do it, because pharmaceutical companies, with their lobbyists and mega donations, have so much influence in Congress. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">RFK Jr. on prescription drug price reduction. <br \/>This was a promise that Democrats all made to America but never got done. <br \/> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ZnO7iMTPyh\">pic.twitter.com\/ZnO7iMTPyh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Big Fish (@BigFish3000) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BigFish3000\/status\/1921940760947028187?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 12, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Democrats have run interference on most of Trump&rsquo; executive orders and it is getting embarrassing.<\/p>\n<p>They object to DOGE uncovering corrupt spending. They buck the deportation of illegal aliens with criminal histories. They crave continued war. And now they will likely try to stop Trump from making your prescription drugs affordable.<\/p>\n<p>This can&rsquo;t go on forever. If Democrats keep a tight grip on the wrong side of every issue, it will ultimately lead to their demise.
