Homework is due Tuesday, Secretary Benson.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday remains the deadline for Benson to turn over what the committee calls election training materials. She says some of the material is sensitive and available only to election officials.<\/p>\n<p>Smit, however, said if election clerks get the information, she and her committee members should be able to see it to make sure training is being done correctly.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The secretary of state can whine about our subpoena all she wants, but the law is the law, and she can&rsquo;t choose to just ignore us because that&rsquo;s more convenient for her,&rdquo; Smit said. &ldquo;We have a responsibility to ensure she&rsquo;s doing the right things and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-bidens-dog-commander-had-at-least-24-biting-incidents-with-secret-service-new-documents-show\/\" title=\"New ... reveal Joe Biden&#039;s dog Commander involved in 24 biting incidents with Secret Service\">properly training<\/a> our clerks.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>As&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/michigan\/article_8f31fdef-166f-484f-a18f-d068a5a0dc8c.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">previously reported<\/a>&nbsp;by The Center Square, through a letter from Nessel, Benson told the committee her office would continue to protect information that could potentially be used to impact the chain of custody of ballots, tamper with election equipment, or impersonate a clerk on Election Day.<\/p>\n<p>Nessel&rsquo;s letter outlines several objections by the secretary of state&rsquo;s office, saying they <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-kicks-off-special-legislative-session-heres-what-theyre-trying-to-get-passed\/\" title=\"Texas Kicks Off Special Legislative Session \u2013 Here\u2019s What They\u2019re Trying To Get Passed\">violate state laws<\/a> and Michigan House Rules.<\/p>\n<p>Also, Benson says the materials asked for serve no legislative purpose, and the large amount of information requested is an &ldquo;unacceptable&rdquo; security risk to Michigan elections.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/michigan\/article_b7e6e7fd-eb23-4d16-818e-c600f9f28395.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nearly a month ago<\/a>, the committee issued a subpoena for what it called election training documents Benson refused to turn over for five months.&nbsp;On Friday, she released thousands of pages of documents but continues to review others for what she called sensitive information.
