The situation arises from the fact that U.S. users of Google Maps see the body of water labeled as \u201cGulf of America,\u201d while it is still referred to as the \u201cGulf of Mexico\u201d for Mexican users and labeled as \u201cGulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)\u201d for the rest of the world. Sheinbaum continued.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the House passed a bill that would make the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/karoline-leavitt-goes-off-cnns-kaitlan-collins-gulf-america-question-let-just-set-record-straight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">executive order<\/a> Trump issued in January permanent as law, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/marjorie-taylor-greene-renaming-gulf-of-mexico-gulf-of-america-house-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The vote on the bill was 211-206.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia said the bill was &ldquo;one of the most important things that we can do this Congress.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This is such an important thing to do for the American people,&rdquo; Greene said. &ldquo;The American people deserve pride in their country, and they deserve pride in the waters that we own, that we protect with our military and our Coast Guard.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In a news release on her <a href=\"https:\/\/greene.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=1034\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>, Greene noted, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s our gulf. The rightful name is the Gulf of America, and it&rsquo;s what the entire world should refer to it as.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Democrat policies have fueled this crisis. They opened our borders, defunded border enforcement, and prioritized illegal aliens and MS-13 gang members over American families. These same Democrats are now outraged over the idea of renaming a body of water that we protect, we patrol, and we pay for,&rdquo; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The gulf is rightfully ours, we must make this change permanent.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Although critics said the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mexican-president-not-happy-gulf-america-threatens-file-suit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">change<\/a> would cost money, Republican Rep. Michelle Fischbach of Minnesota said there are simple alternatives to forcing schools to buy new maps, according to CBS.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If a school district can&rsquo;t afford to purchase an entirely new map, you know what?
