There had to be like a hundred Chewy boxes in the entire house. They were scattered in every room, and there were little bodies, dead bodies, inside,&rdquo; Tammy Gatto, a volunteer with Long Island Cat and Kitten Solutions, told the Post.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I had to take five breaks, and I was only in there for two and a half hours,&rdquo; Gatto said. &ldquo;We were wearing protective suits like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mayor-orders-hazmat-suits-worn-around-downed-drones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hazmat suits<\/a>&nbsp;and we had respirators and it was still really tough.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The surviving cats were transported to the Islip Animal Shelter in Long Island and required &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/eco-warriors-blockade-amazon-warehouses-in-britain-on-black-friday\/\" title=\"Eco-Warriors Blockade Amazon Warehouses in Britain on Black Friday\">urgent medical attention<\/a>,&rdquo; the SPCA said in its Instagram post.<\/p>\n<p>Neighbors said that Glantz and his late wife used to leave food for stray cats, attracting dozens of them into their home, the Post reported.<\/p>\n<p>But when Glantz&rsquo;s wife died, several weeks before his arrest, the situation worsened.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He was feeding the cats in the backyard for years,&rdquo; a neighbor said. &ldquo;I mean, I would smell the urine, but I like cats. But we never smelled anything like this.
