From very young, he was appointed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-backlash-over-call-to-limit-annoying-womens-speaking-time-tokyo-olympics-chief-resigns\/\" title=\"After Backlash Over Call To Limit \u2018Annoying\u2019 Women\u2019s \u2018Speaking Time,\u2019 Tokyo Olympics Chief Resigns\">leadership roles<\/a>,&rdquo; Allen said. &ldquo;He&rsquo;s seen as somebody who is calm and balanced, who is even-handed, and who is very clear on what he thinks needs to be done &hellip; but he&rsquo;s not overly forceful in trying to make that happen.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmafmwkzc001j3b6myq8t9ory@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\" data-analytics-observe=\"off\">Prevost graduated from Villanova University and the Catholic Theological Union of Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the abuse scandal that has hit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/report-finds-members-french-catholic-church-abused-330000-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">church<\/a>, Prevost told a recent interviewer, &ldquo;There are places where good work has already been done for years and the rules are being put into practice. At the same time, I believe that there is still much to learn.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In a report issued prior to his selection as Pope Loe, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/05\/02\/world\/americas\/pope-candidate-cardinal-robert-francis-prevost.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New York Times<\/a> quoted Rev. Michele Falcone, 46, a priest in the Order of St. Augustine, as saying Prevost represented a &ldquo;dignified middle of the road.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Times noted that in an interview, Prevost said, &ldquo;The bishop is not supposed to be a little prince sitting in his kingdom.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>He said, a leader in a church is &ldquo;called authentically to be humble, to be close to the people he serves, to walk with them, to suffer with them.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">&ldquo;He does not have excesses,&rdquo; Falcone said of Prevost. &ldquo;Blessing babies, yes.
