of the Trump administration labeling him a &ldquo;terrorist.&rdquo; The cartel member called the situation &ldquo;ugly&rdquo; before Yeung followed up by asking what message he had for Trump.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My respect,&rdquo; the cartel member said, according to the translation provided by CNN. &ldquo;According to [Trump], he&rsquo;s looking out for his people, but the problem is that the consumers are [in the United States]. If there weren&rsquo;t any consumers, we would stop.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1595117556\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Put aside the business aspect of his comment. What&rsquo;s truly remarkable is that a cartel member &mdash; someone who has admitted financial interest in America&rsquo;s deadly drug addiction &mdash; can still plainly admit what the American corporate press refuses to acknowledge: Trump&rsquo;s border and immigration policies are intended to protect Americans.<\/p>\n<p>When Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/designating-cartels-and-other-organizations-as-foreign-terrorist-organizations-and-specially-designated-global-terrorists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a> the designation of cartels and other criminal organizations as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lawmakers-consider-enacting-statute-to-increase-punishments-for-domestic-terrorism\/\" title=\"Lawmakers consider enacting statute to increase punishments for domestic terrorism\">foreign terrorist organizations<\/a> upon taking office, the reaction from legacy media was swift and predictably backward.<\/p>\n<p>Maria Abi-Habib and Simon Romero <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/01\/22\/world\/americas\/mexico-cartel-terrorists-trade.html?utm_medium=DSMN8&amp;utm_source=LinkedIn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/there-is-something-really-demented-about-tim-walzs-lying\/\" title=\"There Is Something Really Demented About Tim Walz&#039;s Lying\">piece headlined &#038;ldquo<\/a>;How Labeling Cartels &lsquo;Terrorists&rsquo; Could Hurt the U.S. Economy.&rdquo; Their main concern? How the designation of &ldquo;Mexican cartels and other criminal organizations as foreign terrorists could force some American companies to forgo doing business in Mexico rather than risk U.S. sanctions.&rdquo; The duo cited &ldquo;former government officials and analysts.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>MSNBC&rsquo;s Zeeshan Aleem <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msnbc.com\/opinion\/msnbc-opinion\/trump-mexico-drug-cartels-terrorist-war-drugs-rcna188600\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">called<\/a> the order a &ldquo;terrible idea,&rdquo; warning it could &ldquo;destroy&rdquo; &ldquo;U.S.-Mexico relations&rdquo; &mdash; because apparently protecting American lives is too high a price to pay for upsetting a country overrun by drug lords. Aleem&rsquo;s entire argument hinged on the hypothetical that labeling cartels could someday justify U.S. military action. Such an article reveals the left&rsquo;s habit of hand-wringing over hypotheticals while ignoring the real and serious issue.<\/p>\n<p>NPR&rsquo;s Leila Fadel <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2025\/01\/22\/nx-s1-5269692\/what-happens-when-mexican-drug-cartels-are-classified-as-terrorist-organizations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">questioned<\/a> how Trump&rsquo;s order would affect &ldquo;the way the U.S. fights drug trafficking and what it means for the sovereignty of other nations.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Of course. Because when it comes to sovereignty, legacy media always prioritize the rights of <em>other<\/em> countries &mdash; never the rights of Americans to defend their own borders.<\/p>\n<p>Which brings us back to CNN&rsquo;s bizarre interview platforming a cartel member. Here a criminal member of one of the most violent drug cartels openly admitted what the left-wing media cannot: Trump&rsquo;s immigration policies are fundamentally about protecting his people and national sovereignty.
