I&rsquo;ll leave it up to them. The Department of State of the United States had set up an office to monitor the social media posts and commentary of American citizens, to identify them as vectors of disinformation,&rdquo; Rubio said.<\/p>\n<p>Rubio appeared to be referring to a former <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rubio-sets-media-straight-trump-admins-handling-abrego-garcia-case-illegal-alien-returning\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">State Department<\/a> office called the Global Engagement Center, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/administration\/5275435-rubio-says-state-had-dossier-accusing-trump-cabinet-member-of-disinformation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In a news release on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.state.gov\/protecting-and-championing-free-speech-at-the-state-department\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">State Department website<\/a>, Rubio last month announced the center was being shut down.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Freedom of speech and expression have been a cornerstone of what it means to be an American citizen.
