It&rsquo;s electric. It doesn&rsquo;t matter,&rdquo; he says. &ldquo;Come on, America, let&rsquo;s get in the race. Now China&rsquo;s winning. They&rsquo;re making clean cars &hellip; Over in China, they&rsquo;re way ahead. That&rsquo;s hard to swallow.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Young, a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, whom he once labeled &ldquo;a disgrace.&rdquo; In 2020, Young sued Trump&rsquo;s reelection campaign for unauthorized use of his songs &ldquo;Rockin&rsquo; in the Free World&rdquo; and &ldquo;Devil&rsquo;s Sidewalk.&rdquo; Though he later dropped the suit, Young accused the campaign of hijacking his music for &ldquo;a divisive, un-American campaign of ignorance and hate.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Young&rsquo;s activism doesn&rsquo;t stop at music. He was recently seen at a California protest holding a sign saying, &ldquo;Hands off Canada,&rdquo; a dig at Trump&rsquo;s past comments about annexing Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The musician also performed this month at a Fighting Oligarchy rally hosted by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), further cementing his role as a progressive political voice.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, Young has long championed environmental causes, including many of the same ones Musk supports, such as the push for EVs. In 2009, Young launched the LincVolt project, converting his classic 1959 Lincoln Continental into a hybrid vehicle powered by a 150 kilowatt electric motor and a biodiesel generator. The car was designed to achieve 100 miles per gallon and showcase the potential of sustainable automotive innovation.<\/p>\n<p>As Musk continues to make headlines for his role in assisting Trump with the Department of Government Efficiency and for being the target of violent protests at Tesla dealerships, he joked during a White House Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, &ldquo;They do like to burn my cars.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Elon Musk at the Cabinet meeting:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This could be the greatest administration since the founding of this country.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>(I snort laughed at this)<\/p>\n<p>He then cries to Donald Trump about Tesla, &#8220;they do like to burn my cars, which is not great. His 2015 album <em>The Monsanto Years<\/em> targets agribusiness giant Monsanto, blasting the corporation&rsquo;s influence over agriculture and its promotion of genetically modified organisms. Kennedy Jr., has made similar critiques. Kennedy has long been one of Monsanto&rsquo;s fiercest legal adversaries. In 2018, he helped represent Dewayne Johnson, a California school groundskeeper who developed terminal cancer after years of exposure to Monsanto&rsquo;s Roundup herbicide. The jury sided with Johnson, awarding nearly $290 million in damages and marking one of the most significant legal defeats for the agrochemical giant.<\/p>\n<p>As HHS secretary, Kennedy has pushed for <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">tighter food safety regulations<\/a>, including revising the Food and Drug Administration&rsquo;s &ldquo;Generally Recognized as Safe&rdquo; rule. His policy would require companies to submit safety data and notify the agency before adding new substances to food.
