This alliance was previously challenged by the biden administration&#8217;s Department of Justice, which contended that it violated the Sherman Act. Despite American Airlines&#8217; attempts to fight the DOJ in court, a federal judge ruled against the partnership. American&#8217;s Vice Chair, Steve Johnson, stated that the lawsuit aims to recover funds owed following the dissolution of the alliance. JetBlue has acknowledged the lawsuit but refrained from further comments due to the ongoing litigation. Johnson assured that American would focus on the New York and Boston markets. The company added 20 more routes to New York&rsquo;s two major airports, John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia, last year.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit is meant &ldquo;to recover money owed to American following the unwinding of the Northeast Alliance&rdquo; according to Johnson.
