THE EXTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE IS HAPPENING!!!&rdquo; Trump wrote, touting new jobs creation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Trump announced sweeping tariffs on dozens of nations set to be enacted earlier this month, placing a universal 10% tariff rate on most goods imported into the U.S. Additional tariffs vary by country, with China seeing rates as high as 145%.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Most of these tariffs have yet to be implemented, as Trump announced a 90-day pause in order to give countries more time to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/foreign-policy\/3392693\/trump-to-meet-with-von-der-leyen-tariff-battle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">come to a deal<\/a> with Washington for potentially lower rates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The tariffs have sent waves of uncertainty throughout the global economy, as many fear the downstream effects of the high rates &mdash; such as higher costs of goods within the U.S.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/in_focus\/3392067\/media-want-president-aoc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JOE CONCHA: THE MEDIA WANT PRESIDENT AOC, BUT REALITY SAYS OTHERWISE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trump has repeatedly said revenue from the tariffs will offer relief to American tax payers, floating it as a replacement for the income tax.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, economists are skeptical as to whether this could actually work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When looking at those earning less than $150,000, a study <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfr.org\/blog\/could-trumps-tariffs-replace-income-tax-bottom-90\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">conducted<\/a> by the Council on Foreign Relations found that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-senate-committee-advances-bill-to-legalize-sports-betting-without-constitutional-amendment\/\" title=\"Georgia Senate committee approves sports betting bill without constitutional amendment\">tax revenue generated<\/a> from these Americans is around $576 billion.
