Less than a week later, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3375307\/trump-pauses-tariffs-90-days-china-exports-125\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">walked back most tariffs<\/a> for 90 days but left a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-liberation-day-tariffs-how-they-work-and-who-they-hit\/\" title=\"Trump &#039;Liberation Day&#039; ...: How they work and who they hit\">10% baseline tariff<\/a> on most countries.<\/p>\n<p>In return, China imposed a 125% tariff on the U.S. Relations with China appeared to improve briefly on Wednesday, as the Trump administration said it was discussing reducing its steep tariff on China.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent gave contrary answers about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/finance-and-economy\/3388675\/scott-bessent-trump-trade-america-first-does-not-mean-america-alone-urges-collaboration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">any negotiations<\/a>.
