Pureval received 66% of the vote in his 2021 campaign. Prior to February, Pureval was running unopposed.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think it&rsquo;s fantastic that I&rsquo;m not running unopposed,&rdquo; Pureval said at a recent ribbon cutting.<\/p>\n<p>Bowman is up against the incumbent and one other Republican candidate, recruiter&nbsp;Brian Frank. The primary election will be nonpartisan, with the top two candidates moving on to the November election.<\/p>\n<p>Vance made little mention of Bowman in his memoir, Hillbilly Elegy. The two share a father who wanted to put Vance up for adoption when he was born. As a result, Vance&rsquo;s mother opted not to give her son the Bowman last name. The half brothers reconnected when Vance was 13.<\/p>\n<p>Neither the White House nor Vance has offered an endorsement in the race.
