His rating stands at 39% favorable and 49% unfavorable,primarily due to dissatisfaction among Democrats following his handling of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-house-republicans-have-used-their-majority-so-far\/\" title=\"How House Republicans Have Used Their Majority so Far\">government funding issues<\/a>. Schumer has rebuffed assertions he&rsquo;s out of touch with the base of the party and has become an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/reagan-would-not-be-happy-trump-sprays-insults-at-paul-ryan-rinos-reagan-library-and-more\/\" title=\"\u2018Reagan Would Not Be Happy\u2019: Trump Sprays Insults At Paul Ryan, RINOs, Reagan Library And More\">ineffective leader<\/a> who&rsquo;s ill-prepared to take on another Trump term.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;While he continues to be viewed unfavorably by more than two-thirds of Republicans and a majority of independents, Schumer saw his standing with Democrats, particularly liberals, fall dramatically,&rdquo; Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg said.<\/p>\n<p>The poll did not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democratic-voters-show-who-they-want-to-run-in-2028-republicans-should-be-thrilled\/\" title=\"Democratic Voters Show Who They Want to Run in 2028: Republicans Should Be Thrilled\">gauge voters&#038;rsquo<\/a>; preferred choice in a head-to-head matchup, but a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/3370622\/aoc-schumer-polling-new-york-senate-primary-2028\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"largest-ever quarter of fundraising\">previous survey<\/a> this month had Ocasio-Cortez besting Schumer by nearly 20 points. Ocasio-Cortez had her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/3381015\/aoc-raises-nearly-10-million-first-quarter-smashing-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"largest-ever quarter of fundraising\">largest-ever quarter of fundraising<\/a> in the first three months of this year with nearly $10 million, an eye-popping figure that was also buoyed by her tour of the country with left-wing Sen.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/bernie-sanders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bernie Sanders<\/a>&nbsp;(I-VT).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Sen. Among liberals, his favorability is 47-41%, down from a previous 68-21%.<\/p>\n<p>Ocasio-Cortez scored the highest favorability among the New York elected officials polled, including Gov.
