And we saw him alive. It was very overwhelming.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Sura continued answering questions, eventually discussing her marriage with Abrego Garcia.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve been together over seven years. It&rsquo;s been amazing. He&rsquo;s a very loving husband, an amazing father,&rdquo; she said with a smile. &ldquo;And we were just young parents trying to live the American dream.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>At one point, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/downright-cowardly-viewers-call-michael-strahan-fired-happened-national-anthem\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Strahan<\/a> took the interview in a different direction.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I know this is a sensitive question, but I have to ask it,&rdquo; Strahan said. &ldquo;You did take out a temporary order of protection against your husband in 2021. Were you in fear of your husband?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Silence ensued, though there appeared to be a lag in communication throughout the virtual interview.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My husband is alive. That&rsquo;s all I can say,&rdquo; Sura said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;OK. Not going to push on that, apparently,&rdquo; Strahan said.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Sura issued a statement to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/exclusive-abrego-garcias-wife-responds-after-restraining-order-revealed-2060718\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newsweek<\/a> after the Department of Homeland Security released court filings in which Sura alleged domestic abuse against her husband.<\/p>\n<p>Among the released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dhs-may-ingenious-way-identify-majority-illegal-immigrants-currently-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DHS<\/a> filings was Sura&rsquo;s 2021 request for a protective order against Abrego Garcia.<\/p>\n<p>The document stated that Abrego Garcia punched her and scratched her eye as she bled, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/kilmar-garcias-wife-refuses-answer-question-about-getting-order-protection-against-husband\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He also reportedly threw her laptop on the floor.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In November 2020, he hit me with his work boot,&rdquo; Sura reportedly wrote. &ldquo;In August 2020, he hit me in the eye leaving a purple eye.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>But Sura&rsquo;s Wednesday statement defended her husband.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/psychologist-claims-depp-did-cavity-search-on-heard-while-looking-for-drugs\/\" title=\"Psychologist Claims Depp Did \u2018Cavity Search\u2019 On Heard While Looking For Drugs\">surviving domestic violence<\/a> in a previous relationship, I acted out of caution following a disagreement with Kilmar by seeking a civil protective order, in case things escalated,&rdquo; Sura said. &ldquo;Things did not escalate, and I decided not to follow through with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bombshell-on-maryland-man-dems-love-turns-out-he-was-wife-beater-according-to-his-own-wife\/\" title=\"Bombshell on &#039;... No one is perfect, and no marriage is perfect. But that is not a justification for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ice-arrests-owner-popular-restaurant-ties-foreign-government-confirmed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ICE&rsquo;s<\/a> action of abducting him and deporting him to a country where he was supposed to be protected from removal.
