Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran citizen previously living in the U.S., was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doj-declines-to-answer-judges-questions-on-venezuelan-migrant-flights-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"DOJ declines to answer judge\u2019s questions on Venezuelan migrant flights - Washington Examiner\">mistakenly deported<\/a> under the Trump administration and has been identified in connection with the MS-13 gang, even though his membership remains unverified. Van Hollen&#8217;s visit aimed to assess Abrego garcia&#8217;s health, but both his request for phone dialog and physical entry to the prison were blocked. He lived and worked in Maryland for about 15 years before he was deported in March to a mega-prison in El Salvador.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2019, Abrego Garcia was ordered to be deported by a judge, but he convinced the judge he would be in danger if he returned to El Salvador. Abrego Garcia was then granted a &ldquo;withholding order,&rdquo; which prohibited the government from sending him to El Salvador.<\/p>\n<p>The White House and top officials in the Trump administration have said Abrego Garcia was in the MS-13 gang, citing a police report that suggested he was at least affiliated with the group after he was arrested with known gang members. His status as a member has not been confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/supreme-court\/3377382\/supreme-court-orders-trump-administration-return-mistakenly-deported-man-el-salvador\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">ordered<\/a> the Trump administration to &ldquo;facilitate&rdquo; the return of Abrego Garcia, but the administration has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3382104\/judge-james-boasberg-cause-for-contempt-trump-administration-migrant-flights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">disputed the definition of the order<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Van Hollen&nbsp;described Abrego Garcia as having been &ldquo;illegally abducted.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The goal of this mission is to let the Trump administration &hellip;
