The retailer sells everything from clothes to wallets to gadgets at a fraction of American retailer prices. At the same time, Pathmatics reported Temu was spending well over $1 million in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-taylor-swift-fans-changed-voter-registration-to-virginia-in-failed-attempt-to-help-terry-mcauliffe\/\" title=\"Report: Taylor Swift Fans Changed Voter Registration to Virginia in Failed Attempt to Help Terry McAuliffe\">social media ads<\/a> but has decreased in recent days.<\/p>\n<p>PDD Holdings, the parent company to Temu, started the month with a stock price of roughly $125 a share but has since dwindled to around $94.40 as of Tuesday afternoon. <\/p>\n<p>This time last year, then-Sen. Marco Rubio was calling for the Biden administration to investigate whether Temu was exploiting U.S. trade laws, using forced labor, or compromising people&rsquo;s data. Additionally, Rubio, along with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) wanted to look into their backing by the Chinese Communist Party.<\/p>\n<p>China&nbsp;remains the outlier with a 145% tariff.&nbsp;The&nbsp;Chinese&nbsp;Communist Party&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/national-security\/3308064\/china-filing-lawsuit-us-world-trade-organization-tariffs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">filed a lawsuit<\/a>&nbsp;against the U.S. with the World Trade Organization over its initial 10%&nbsp;tariff. In an additional move to pressure the U.S.,&nbsp;China&nbsp;issued&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/world\/3341726\/china-slaps-tariffs-on-canada-for-leverage-against-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tariffs against Canada<\/a>. Most recently,&nbsp;China&nbsp;opted to halt the exports of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/foreign-policy\/3379148\/china-export-critical-minerals-electric-vehicles-missiles-robots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">critical minerals<\/a>&nbsp;to the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>During Tuesday&rsquo;s press briefing, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt read a statement from the president insisting &ldquo;the ball is in China&rsquo;s court&rdquo; regarding tariffs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/business\/3372110\/pat-harrigan-campaigns-against-chinese-owned-gnc-on-military-bases\/\"><strong>PAT HARRIGAN CAMPAIGNS AGAINST CHINESE-OWNED GNC ON MILITARY BASES<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;China needs to make a deal with us; we don&rsquo;t have to make a deal with them.
