Eric Burlison (R-MO) was cautious about raising <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/taxes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">taxes<\/a> on the nation&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/money\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">wealthiest<\/a> people, suggesting that there are better ways to pursue President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Donald Trump&rsquo;s<\/a> agenda for consumers in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Trump hinted at using a new tax on millionaires <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3374562\/trump-open-millionaire-tax-pay-second-term-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">to offset the cost of his legislative agenda last week<\/a>, specifically allowing the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">top marginal tax rate<\/a> to go back to 39.6%. I think that we need to find spending cuts,&rdquo; Burlison said on Fox Business&rsquo;s <em>Mornings with Maria Bartiromo<\/em>. &ldquo;Look, we&rsquo;ve got a spending problem, not a revenue problem. Whenever we continue to encourage countries to buy our debt, it&rsquo;s not putting us in a good position. We&rsquo;re driving up interest rates because we&rsquo;re the number one buyer of debt. Cory Booker&rsquo;s (D-NJ) demand for congressional hearings into possible insider trading after Trump paused most of his tariffs, in which he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3379002\/cory-booker-congressional-hearings-insider-trading-tariffs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">claimed &ldquo;there&rsquo;s enough smoke&rdquo; to back up his demand<\/a>. The Missouri lawmaker, however, suggested Booker was &ldquo;reaching&rdquo; and pointed out how &ldquo;there&rsquo;s more circumstantial evidence&rdquo; that Democratic lawmakers like Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) have been involved in insider trading.<\/p>\n<p>Businessman and <em>Shark Tank<\/em> host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3377199\/kevin-oleary-dismisses-accusations-trump-insider-trading\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Kevin O&rsquo;Leary has also rebuffed the idea that Trump conducted insider trading<\/a> by encouraging people to buy stocks before pausing most of his tariffs.
