He plans to run again in the 2026 elections, emphasizing his commitment to issues like job creation, Social Security protection, and education reform. Despite losing the previous election, Rogers has gained support from GOP leadership, including Majority Leader john Thune, who highlights his military and service background. The competitive landscape shows fewer prominent Democratic challengers than anticipated, as many potential candidates, including Governor Gretchen Whitmer, have opted out. Meanwhile, Democrats have already begun their opposition campaign against Rogers, citing his previous positions and the party’s historical challenges in statewide races. Rogers is preparing for significant campaign efforts from democrats as he strives to reclaim the seat.

Mike Rogers jumps into Michigan Senate race again after narrow loss to Slotkin

Mike Rogers, the former Republican congressman who lost his Michigan Senate bid against Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) in the 2024 election, has announced he is running again in 2026.

Rogers narrowly lost to Slotkin last year, 48.3% to 48.64%, also trailing President Donald Trump in support by about a point-and-a-half.
