Trump Posts From His  (@TrumpDailyPosts) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TrumpDailyPosts\/status\/1910354646947742099?\">April 10, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The vote was originally scheduled for last night, but House Speaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jd-vance-mike-johnson-caught-talking-hot-mic-trumps-address-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mike Johnson<\/a> delayed it in order to rally some fiscal hawks who were not yet on board, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/04\/10\/house-gop-adopts-budget-framework-paving-the-way-for-trumps-big-beautiful-bill-00283511\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>These lawmakers then met with Senate Majority Leader John Thune last night, who reportedly assured them the upper chamber was in the ballpark of $1.5 trillion in budget cuts over 10 years that the House is seeking.<\/p>\n<p>The budget resolution that passed the Senate last week called for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2025\/04\/05\/g-s1-58281\/senate-budget-resolution-reconciliation-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$4 billion<\/a> in cuts.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday morning, ahead of the budget resolution vote, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-schumer-absolutely-eviscerated-clip-siding-trump-trade-years-ago\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thune<\/a> said, &ldquo;We have got to do something to get the country on a more sustainable fiscal path. &hellip; And our ambition in the Senate is, we are aligned with the House in terms of what their budget resolution outlined in terms of savings.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Speaker has talked about $1.5 trillion. We have a lot of United States senators who believe that is a minimum. And we&rsquo;re certainly going to do everything we can to be as aggressive as possible,&rdquo; the majority leader said.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson stated, &ldquo;We are committed to finding at least $1.5 trillion in savings for the American people, while also preserving our essential programs.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>He made clear that includes Medicaid for all who are eligible to receive the benefits. Democrats have charged that Republicans want to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2025\/04\/10\/insurers-providers-medicaid-cuts-00282418\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cut Medicaid<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BlwW0Zf-l9w?si=8BgWrhwkgczbC2_J&amp;start=247\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Other priorities in the budget resolution include extending the 2017 tax cuts. No <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-white-house-planning-largest-tax-cut-history-middle-class\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tax on tips<\/a> and Social Security incomes are two campaign promises Trump made that he will want to see in the final budget.<\/p>\n<p>Passage of the budget resolution in both chambers means the hard work of turning policy guidelines into an actual budget bill can begin.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate will write it up as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gingrich-highlights-dems-deceptive-budget-trick-bring-3-5t-reconciliation-bills-price-tag\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">budget reconciliation<\/a> package, meaning only a majority vote is needed to pass it, rather than the normal 60 votes to overcome a filibuster.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats have already begun to message against the bill, seeking to frame it as a giveaway to the wealthy.<\/p>\n<p>Sen.
