This is separate from the case the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3374226\/ryan-routh-rocket-launcher-ukraine-kill-trump-doj\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Department of Justice is pursuing<\/a> in an attempt to convict Routh federally. Uthmeier is new to his office since he succeeded Sen. In December, prosecutors added another&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3264335\/ryan-routh-faces-new-murder-charge-in-trump-assassination-attempt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attempted murder charge<\/a>, as when&nbsp;Routh&nbsp;fled law enforcement, traffic was shut down, and an accident nearly killed a young female passenger.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a court filing from earlier this week, the DOJ alleged that Routh attempted to buy a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3374226\/ryan-routh-rocket-launcher-ukraine-kill-trump-doj\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"rocket launcher\">rocket launcher<\/a> from Ukraine in his plot to assassinate Trump, who at the time was a presidential candidate.
