On April 2, Anthony allegedly fatally stabbed fellow student Austin Metcalf, also 17, after an altercation under a sports team tent.Witnesses reported that Metcalf was assaulted and that Anthony discarded the bloody knife nearby, which was later recovered by police. <\/p>\n<p>Anthony claimed his actions were in self-defense, stating that Metcalf had attacked him. His attorney expressed support for this defense, while the investigation continues. The Anthony family asserts that the narrative surrounding the incident is false and harmful,and they seek public sympathy and understanding as they navigate this situation. In contrast, Metcalf&#8217;s family is mourning his death and has publicly forgave Anthony. There are no indications that Metcalf had previously bullied Anthony or posed a threat before the altercation, and the case continues to unfold in the legal system.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The family of the suspect in a fatal Frisco, Texas track meet stabbing has raised more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.givesendgo.com\/HelpKarmelo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$279,000<\/a> off of the alleged crime that occurred just one week ago to support them during this &ldquo;challenging and difficult time.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Seventeen-year-old Karmelo Anthony, a student at Centennial High School, allegedly fatally stabbed 17-year-old Austin Metcalf in the chest at a multi-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/n-d-house-passes-bill-banning-transgender-students-from-competing-in-school-sports\/\" title=\"N.D. House passes bill banning transgender ...s from competing in school sports\">school sporting event<\/a> on April 2 after the victim asked and then tried to push Anthony out from under the Memorial High School track team tent. <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/SarahisCensored\/status\/1909405357077942641\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Witness statements and recently released police reports<\/a> indicate that while Metcalf&rsquo;s twin Hunter Metcalf <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/unlimited_ls\/status\/1907603449602044144\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">held his<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/unlimited_ls\/status\/1907791539884941387\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bleeding brother<\/a>, the suspect tossed the bloody knife into the nearby bleachers, where officers later recovered it.<\/p>\n<p>When <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-red-wave-of-conservative-women-elected-to-congress\/\" title=\"The Red Wave of Conservative Women Elected to Congress\">law enforcement<\/a> took Anthony into custody, the suspect allegedly claimed unprompted that &ldquo;I was protecting myself&rdquo; because &ldquo;he put his hands on me.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not alleged. I did it,&rdquo; reports say Anthony added. <\/p>\n<p>Another officer wrote that Anthony &ldquo;made another spontaneous statement and asked if what happened could be considered self-defense.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing is ongoing. Anthony&rsquo;s initial legal counsel and family, however, appears to have taken his &ldquo;self-defense&rdquo; comments to heart.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The narrative being spread is false, unjust, and harmful,&rdquo; the Anthony family&rsquo;s statement attached to the ongoing fundraiser claims. &ldquo;As a family of faith, we are deeply grateful for all of your support during this trying period. Your prayers and assistance mean more to us now more than ever.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Deric Walpole, the attorney who spent the last week trying to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/local\/frisco-track-meet-stabbing-suspect-lawyer-speaks-victim-funeral-planned\/3809057\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lower Anthony&rsquo;s $1 million bond<\/a>, claimed that he didn&rsquo;t &ldquo;have any reason to think it wasn&rsquo;t self-defense at this time.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I know that my client said it was self-defense. I don&rsquo;t have any reason to disbelieve that, but I need to develop facts, talk to people, and figure out what&rsquo;s going on before I make any statements about what I think happened,&rdquo; Walpole <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/unlimited_ls\/status\/1908593401609805975\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony&rsquo;s new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/9-key-points-from-trump-campaign-press-conference-on-challenges-to-election-results\/\" title=\"9 Key Points from Trump Campaign Press Conference on Challenges to Election Results\">legal team<\/a>, Clark Law Firm&rsquo;s Bill Clark and K Cole Law&rsquo;s Kim Cole, did not explicitly endorse the &ldquo;stand your ground&rdquo; angle in their official statement, but did demand the public &ldquo;refrain from rushing to judgment before all the facts and evidence are presented.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Karmelo, like all citizens of the United States, is entitled to a fair and impartial legal process; we are committed to ensuring that Karmelo&rsquo;s rights are indeed protected throughout each phase of the criminal justice system,&rdquo; the lawyers said, noting that &ldquo;Karmelo and the entire Anthony family are sincerely saddened that a life was lost and offer their condolences to the family of Austin Metcalf.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>None of the evidence or statements released so far indicates that Metcalf had previously bullied Anthony, was armed, or attempted to use illegal force against Anthony, something <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">social media conspiracy theorists<\/a> and law enforcement impersonators online <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/04\/07\/us-news\/austin-metcalfs-stabbing-death-sparks-sick-conspiracy-theories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">have tried to claim<\/a>. In fact, witness accounts appear to suggest that Anthony was the provocateur who deliberately camped out under a rival high school&rsquo;s tent and brought a weapon to a school sporting event. <\/p>\n<p>According to Lone Star State self-defense laws, someone who uses deadly force retaliation and expects the protection of <a href=\"https:\/\/statutes.capitol.texas.gov\/Docs\/PE\/htm\/PE.9.htm#C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">self-defense and &ldquo;stand your ground&rdquo; laws<\/a> is only justified if the use of that force &ldquo;is immediately necessary to protect the actor against the other&rsquo;s use or attempted use of unlawful force.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>While Anthony&rsquo;s family raises money off of the alleged murder and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/news\/frisco-track-meet-stabbing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deliberately deceptive campaign<\/a> hinged on Anthony&rsquo;s &ldquo;self-defense&rdquo; comments, Metcalf&rsquo;s family is planning a funeral. Metcalf&rsquo;s father has publicly stated he forgives his son&rsquo;s suspected murderer. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I can&#8217;t even imagine giving this interview the day after his son was murdered.
