Programs Next\">higher education grants<\/a>. Cornell has seen $1 billion in funds halted, while Northwestern&#8217;s funding freeze amounts to $790 million. Both institutions reported not being informed about this decision by the white House. This action follows a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">similar funding cut experienced<\/a> by Columbia University. The funds in question support crucial research contributions at both universities, including advancements in health and cybersecurity. Both universities claimed they were not notified by the White House on the matter. While Northwestern did not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-funding-freezes-for-cornell-and-northwestern-nears-2b\/\" title=\"Federal funding freezes for ... and Northwestern nears B\">report stop work orders<\/a>, the university was aware of reports regarding its government grants.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Federal funds that Northwestern receives drive innovative and life-saving research, like the recent development by Northwestern researchers of the world&rsquo;s smallest pacemaker, and research fueling the fight against Alzheimer&rsquo;s disease. This type of research is now in jeopardy,&rdquo; a Northwestern spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>The Health and Human Services Department, the Education Department, and the General Services Administration&nbsp;are reviewing universities to determine whether they violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act by allowing on-campus protests to escalate to the point of having antisemitic themes. Neither department within the multi-agency task force has commented publicly on Cornell or Northwestern.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/education\/3373326\/harvard-borrowing-bonds-federal-funding-uncertainty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>HARVARD TURNS TO BORROWING BONDS AMID FEDERAL FUNDING UNCERTAINTY<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;All Federal Funding will STOP for any College, School, or University that allows illegal protests,&rdquo; Trump wrote in a Truth Social post last month. &ldquo;Agitators will be imprisoned\/or permanently sent back to the country from which they came. American students will be permanently expelled or, depending on the crime, arrested.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his executive order on antisemitism, Trump has signed several orders on diversity, equity, and inclusion, among them one that prohibits the policy in schools.
