Maine also lied in its lawsuit about threats to school lunches for school children.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/fingfx.thomsonreuters.com\/gfx\/legaldocs\/lbpgwzmojpq\/04072025maine.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuit<\/a>, brought against the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), claims that the Trump administration cannot revoke federal funding from Maine &mdash; despite the fact that USDA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usda.gov\/about-usda\/news\/press-releases\/2025\/04\/02\/usda-freezes-funding-promises-further-action-if-maine-continues-violating-federal-law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">found<\/a> the state &ldquo;in direct violation of Title IX&rdquo; because of &ldquo;Maine&rsquo;s continual refusal to provide equal opportunity to women and girls in educational programs.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-591903830\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Following the example set out by a shameless Biden administration, which <a href=\"https:\/\/dojmt.gov\/ag-knudsen-sues-biden-administration-over-threat-to-hold-school-lunches-hostage-to-its-transgender-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">really did have a USDA that threatened the meals of school children<\/a> if states did not follow their pro-mutilation-and-castration-for-children ideology, the state of Maine is using children as fodder in an attempt to make a political point.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit claims USDA&rsquo;s actions are &ldquo;blatantly unlawful&rdquo; and violate the Administrative Procedure Act because, according to Maine, the revocation is &ldquo;freezing federal funds allocated to Maine to feed schoolchildren.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The problem for Maine is that its claim has is a lie.<\/p>\n<p>In her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usda.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/maine-letter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter<\/a> to Gov. Janet Mills, D-Maine, USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins made clear that the freeze would &ldquo;not impact federal feeding programs or direct assistance&rdquo; and only affect &ldquo;certain administrative and technological functions in schools.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Rollins then warned, &ldquo;This is only the beginning, though you are free to end it at any time by protecting women and girls in compliance with federal law.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Maine&rsquo;s lawsuit goes on to say that &ldquo;the Secretary claimed that she was taking this action because the State of Maine is allegedly violating Title IX of the Civil Rights Law of 1964 by permitting transgender girls and women to participate in girls&rsquo; and women&rsquo;s school sports. The Secretary provided no legal basis for her interpretation of Title IX, and her interpretation is wrong. Indeed, several federal courts have held that Title IX and the Equal Protection Clause require schools to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">permit<\/span> transgender girls and women to play on girls&rsquo; and women&rsquo;s teams.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>While it is unclear where Maine&rsquo;s lawyers are coming up with the idea that Title IX requires schools to allow men in women&rsquo;s sports, what is clear is that a federal judge <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/31\/trumps-education-department-ends-bidens-harmful-title-ix-social-experiment-on-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">scrapped in its entirety<\/a> the Biden administration&rsquo;s attempt to force exactly that idea into Title IX. <\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration subsequently reinstated 2020 rules governing Title IX, which protect women and girls instead of ripping apart their civil rights protections. President Donald Trump also signed an executive order eradicating &ldquo;gender ideology extremism and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-judge-blocks-transgender-inmate-prison-transfer-after-trump-order-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Federal judge blocks transgender inmate prison transfer after Trump order - Washington Examiner\">restoring biological truth<\/a> to the federal government.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/03\/28\/exclusive-education-department-investigates-maine-for-hiding-gender-dysphoria-from-parents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Multiple federal agencies<\/a> are <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/04\/02\/trump-admin-sends-maine-final-warning-for-allowing-boys-in-girls-sports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">investigating<\/a> Maine, and the federal government has found the state in violation of Title IX numerous times. Maine is also under investigation for other transgender-related policies, like blocking parents from being able to know if their child begins claiming to be &ldquo;transgender&rdquo; in school.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Breccan F.
