We learned that Americans care, perhaps even more than those last two things, about fixing the economy, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-tells-americans-hang-tough-tariffs-rattle-economy-wont-easy-end-result-will-historic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">no matter how painful<\/a> it may be. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer.<\/p>\n<p>And it appears they&rsquo;re still tuned out.<\/p>\n<p>Just ask Michelle Obama.<\/p>\n<p>In mid-March, the former first lady launched a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">video podcast series entitled &#038;ldquo<\/a>;IMO&rdquo; (an internet acronym for &ldquo;In My Opinion&rdquo;) with her brother and, despite all sorts of free advertisement from the establishment media, it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/michelle-obamas-much-hyped-new-podcast-off-brutal-start\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flopped pretty hard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Early metrics for IMO&rsquo;s first two episodes failed to find much traction with YouTube audiences, with the first two episodes totaling fewer than 100,000 view within the first couple days of airing.<\/p>\n<p>First, the good news for Michelle Obama: The viewership numbers have gotten better! The first episode of &ldquo;IMO&rdquo; initially brought in a measly 70,000 viewers, but now sits at a much more respectable 335,000 views.<\/p>\n<p>(Now, 335,000 still pales in comparison to the YouTube numbers that, say, Joe Rogan does. Heck, even Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom&rsquo;s ballyhooed podcast has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9XJ6rQDRKGA&amp;list=PLg-fFQbrQw7c-JVsZ25IX6eiJ2EYNZpAp&amp;index=7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">at least one episode<\/a> approaching 900,000 views. And it&rsquo;s also worth mentioning that this is all based on YouTube &mdash; a left-leaning company &mdash; and its publicly available viewership metrics.)<\/p>\n<p>Now, the bad news: &ldquo;IMO&rdquo; is utterly struggling to gain traction anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p>A quick glance at Spotify&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/podcastcharts.byspotify.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">podcast charts<\/a> shows that &ldquo;IMO&rdquo; can&rsquo;t even crack the platform&rsquo;s top 30 podcasts.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Obama&rsquo;s podcast ranks a measly 34th on the list, as of Monday, and is handily beaten out by some podcasts that feature prominently less famous names.<\/p>\n<p>Jefferson Fisher, a trial lawyer and author, has a self-titled podcast that currently ranks 19th on the list.
