(AP Photo\/Paul Sancya)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>GM&rsquo;s Fort Wayne assembly plant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gm.com\/company\/facilities\/fort-wayne\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">employs 4,149 people<\/a> and produces over 1,300 trucks daily, according to GM&rsquo;s website.<\/p>\n<p>The new auto tariffs will affect all imports and are set at 25%. Trump said last week that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3363453\/trump-auto-tariffs-absolutely-permanent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">these tariffs would &ldquo;absolutely&rdquo; be permanent<\/a> because foreign nations have been &ldquo;ripping off the United States for the last 40 years and more.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Beyond GM, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/business\/3369120\/ford-announces-employee-pricing-consumers-reciprocal-tariffs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Ford Motor Company has also unveiled its &ldquo;From America, For America&rdquo; campaign<\/a> in a bid to woo consumers amid the new tariffs. Ford&rsquo;s new promotion, running through June 2, will offer employee pricing to all U.S. customers on almost every Ford and Lincoln model.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/finance-and-economy\/3368870\/stock-market-tariffs-trump-liberation-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">STOCK MARKET TUMBLES AFTER TRUMP&rsquo;S &lsquo;LIBERATION DAY&rsquo; TARIFFS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Stellantis NV, meanwhile, is pausing production at some of its plants and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3368973\/stellantis-900-american-jobs-announces-pause-at-canada-and-mexico-plants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"> temporarily laying off 900 employees<\/a>.
