Jerry Brown served two terms from 2011 to 2019, decades after serving two other terms from 1975 to 1983.<\/p>\n<p>Incumbent California Democratic Gov. Gavin <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/charlie-kirk-issues-important-warning-appearing-gavin-newsoms-new-podcast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newsom<\/a> has served since 2019, even surviving a recall election in 2021, but he will be term-limited in the next cycle.<\/p>\n<p>But Hilton informed Halperin that &ldquo;there are some interesting signs that should give optimism for Republicans in California.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Winning a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-approves-mail-in-ballots-for-2021-election\/\" title=\"... Adam Schiff with a <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/United_States_Senate_election_in_California,_2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vote<\/a> of 41.1 percent to 58.9 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Hilton once more suggested in an opinion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/steve-hilton-gavin-newsom-leaves-unexpected-legacy-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">piece<\/a> for Fox News that he could deliver a win, and that such a win is necessary for the future of California.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;President Donald Trump did better in California than any Republican presidential candidate for decades,&rdquo; he wrote. &ldquo;Republican voter registration has also been increasing while Democrat registration has been falling.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;On Newsom&rsquo;s watch, California has gone from being America&rsquo;s crown jewel to its worst-run state.
