Notably, boasberg halted the deportation of members of the criminal gang tren de Aragua, which the Trump administration was trying to fast-track under the Alien Enemies Act. The judge asserted jurisdiction over deportations involving individuals detained in Texas — a point of contention for the administration.

In contrast, during the 2016 election cycle, Boasberg allowed the Obama administration to delay the release of documents related to Hillary Clinton’s email scandal until after the election, raising accusations of judicial partisanship. What is clear is that polls undercounted both Trump’s support in swing states and the general distaste for Hillary Clinton’s squint-and-maybe-it-looks-kinda-legal-somehow antics, leading to Trump’s victory.

So, naturally, our media forgot about Boasberg and Clinton’s s and started focusing on what was really important: How the Kremlin and fake news totally helped Trump win the presidency. Until that was disproved, too.

But I digress. The point is, if it weren’t for the eternally stoat-like Weiner and his “To Catch a Predator”-style antics, we might remember Boasberg as the guy who decided to kowtow to the Obama-era State Department as it slow-walked the Clinton releases at a speed that makes molasses look like quicksilver when time was of the essence.

Instead of remembering his extreme deference to the Obama administration’s interpretation of the law, however, we now know him for his total lack of deference to the Trump administration on fast-tracking the deportation of members of one of the most notoriously violent transnational gangs in the Americas.

The only consistency Boasberg has is a decided consistency toward partisanship — the exact opposite of what the judiciary’s role in the constitutional scheme of things is supposed to be.

       * Name

       *

      * Message

* All fields are required.

Success!

       function firefly_sc() { if( typeof window.captchaPublicKey==typeof undefined ){ console.error('window.captchaPublicKey is not defined'); } grecaptcha.execute( window.captchaPublicKey, { action: 'submit_correction' } ).then( function( token ) { var opts={ action: 'firefly_sc_submit', name: document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name="name"]' ).value, : document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name=""]' ).value, message: document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name="message"]' ).value, post_id: firefly_post_id, cap_token: token } var inputs=[ 'name', '', 'message' ]; for( var i=0; i <inputs.length; i++ ) if( ! Only when it favors a Democrat. Boasberg, appointed by Obama, has tried to halt President Trump’s expedited deportation of members from the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. This occurred while these individuals were en route to El Salvador after being detained in Texas. The judge ordered their flights to return, but the government contended he lacked jurisdiction since they had already exited U.S. airspace. Meanwhile, the Trump administration plans to proceed with deportations under the Alien Enemies Act until the Supreme Court makes a final ruling and has questioned Boasberg’s authority over this case in the first place—how can a D.C.-based district judge influence immigrants detained in Texas being sent back to El Salvador? This situation arises when groups like the ACLU engage in venue shopping.

If you want an example of Boasberg siding with an administration regarding legal interpretations, look back at his actions during Obama’s presidency. In September 2016, amid Hillary Clinton’s email scandal and her candidacy for president, Boasberg decided that most emails wouldn’t be released until after Election Day despite Judicial Watch’s lawsuits demanding public access under federal disclosure laws.

According to The Wall Street Journal on September 23, 2016: “Most of Hillary Clinton’s emails recovered during an FBI investigation into her time as Secretary of State won’t be made public until after Election Day.” Judge James Boasberg mandated that the State Department process only a small number of pages for release before November 4th—just days before voters went to polls—while committing to release more slowly afterward.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton expressed outrage at what he called a corrupt process that could deprive Americans of crucial information at such a critical time. As noted by The Daily Mail then, this meant many messages from an FBI probe into Clinton’s classified email practices would remain hidden until well after voters chose their next president.

Ultimately, while some may debate how much impact this had on election outcomes—especially given polling errors regarding Trump’s support—the media quickly shifted focus away from Boasberg and Clinton’s emails toward narratives about Russian interference aiding Trump’s victory—a narrative later disproven as well.

In summary, if not for Anthony Weiner’s scandalous behavior leading law enforcement back into Clinton-related investigations just weeks before voting day, we might remember Judge Boasberg primarily for his compliance with Obama-era policies rather than his current resistance against Trump’s immigration enforcement efforts—a clear indication of partisanship undermining judicial impartiality

[548
33169,8602,32624,32211,36160
post-2416579","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-conservative-news-daily","tag-2016-election","tag-emails","tag-hillary-clinton","tag-judicial-decisions","tag-political-controversy
["GET
