They assert that the bill is necessary in light of concerns over transgender individuals competing in women&#8217;s sports and accessing single-sex spaces. Roger Marshall (R-KS) teamed up on Wednesday to introduce the <a href=\"https:\/\/marymiller.house.gov\/sites\/evo-subsites\/marymiller.house.gov\/files\/evo-media-document\/definingmaleandfemaleactof2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Defining Male and Female Act<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The proposed legislation by the two congressional Republicans would codify President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Donald Trump<\/a>&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/defending-women-from-gender-ideology-extremism-and-restoring-biological-truth-to-the-federal-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executive order<\/a> recognizing males and females as the only two sexes. Miller&rsquo;s and Marshall&rsquo;s bill comes on the heels of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/beltway-confidential\/3356549\/tuberville-senate-champion-protect-female-sports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Sen. We shouldn&rsquo;t need legislation to tell us the basic reality that there are only two sexes, but here we are,&rdquo;<strong> <\/strong>Marshall said<strong>.<\/strong> &ldquo;I&rsquo;m thankful President Trump has made this a top priority and signed an Executive Order on his first day in office recognizing that there are only two sexes. Congress must ensure this historic action is written into law by passing the Defining Male and Female Act.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s directive was issued on his first day in office on Jan. 20, with the intention to protect female sports from those who were born male but claimed to be female. The executive order stressed the importance of protecting women&rsquo;s athletics while also stressing the importance of maintaining the &ldquo;biological reality of sex.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Across the country, ideologues who deny the biological reality of sex have increasingly used legal and other socially coercive means to permit men to self-identify as women and gain access to intimate single-sex spaces and activities designed for women, from women&rsquo;s domestic abuse shelters to women&rsquo;s workplace showers,&rdquo; read the president&rsquo;s executive order. &ldquo;This is wrong. Efforts to eradicate the biological reality of sex fundamentally attack women by depriving them of their dignity, safety, and well-being.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive impact not just on women but on the validity of the entire American system,&rdquo; the order noted. &ldquo;Basing Federal policy on truth is critical to scientific inquiry, public safety, morale, and trust in government itself.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/technology\/3358143\/signal-group-chat-leaked-war-plans-snafu-app-security\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HOW SECURE IS SIGNAL?
